Grant Writing

In its inaugural year, the Mt Baker Hub Business Association (Hubba) knew it needed funding if the organization was going to get off the ground. In addition to conducting outreach to local businesses, holding regular organizational meetings and developing key promotional materials, the organization wanted to produce a major business district festival. Hubba called on Catalyst to identify potential granting organizations and to draft appropriate proposals to them.

Catalyst worked with key boardmembers and other volunteers to develop programmatic ideas into realistic proposals that matched funders’ interests. Ultimately the Catalyst-written proposals garnered more than $52,000 from two sources, which funded the first ever Hub Fest and staff to produce a variety of organizational programs.
